An event experienced by our neighbors Katy and John was brought to the attention of the Homeowners Association on Tuesday, March 22nd.
I wanted to reach out to let you all know of some very unfortunate and unacceptable behavior that my son (he will be 3 in April) and I experienced today in our own driveway.
While walking in our trash cans from the street (we were in our driveway) a group of four teenage boys driving a golfcart turned from Birchwood Lane on to Whetstone (our driveway is almost right there at the stop sign on Whetstone). The driver of the golfcart was shirtless. The unacceptable behavior was from the passenger riding next to him. We were all in our own element. My son was watching the cart drive past as I walked in the cans. The passenger then proceeded to shoot at my son and I with a toy gun. The gun made a popping sound versus actually firing anything at us (like Nerf darts or bbs) which caught my attention, so I turned around to see what was making the noise. The boy continued to fire until nearing the stop sign at Old Oak and Whetstone – so as you can imagine he was turned backwards while firing at us. In seeing that I was staring him down (and yes I was and I did not say a word), he then waved back at me as they got to the stop sign.
I do understand that kids will be kids; however, I do NOT take lightly the pointing of any gun (albeit a toy) at my son (or any child) or me.
The neighbor would like to speak to the children’s parents, so contact us if you have any information regarding who this might be, or you can contact Katy directly.
Thank you,
